Tim Patton Co-Owner
Tim Patton, a Nashville native, has been involved in the automotive industry since the age of 19, when he began his career selling vehicles for CarMax while attending Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Although his education opened many doors, his passion for the automotive industry ultimately shaped his professional career.
Over the years, Tim worked his way from automotive sales into management and eventually became a buyer for CarMax. Through sourcing and purchasing vehicles from auctions and directly from customers, he developed extensive experience in inventory management, dealership operations, vehicle logistics, and wholesale automotive operations.
Tim later had the opportunity to work under Steve Brewster, founder of Wholesale Inc., one of the most recognized names in the wholesale automotive industry. During that time, he gained valuable insight into large-scale vehicle transportation and wholesale operations, helping lay the foundation for what would later become Sumner Solutions.
As Tim and his business partner, Tim Futrell, continued wholesaling vehicles nationwide, they recognized the growing need for dependable, communication-focused transportation services within the automotive industry. That vision led to the creation of Sumner Solutions.
Today, Tim helps oversee a company that proudly serves hundreds of customers, dealerships, and franchise groups across the country while coordinating the transportation of tens of thousands of vehicles each year. Under his leadership, Sumner Solutions has built a reputation centered around communication, accountability, and customer service.
Tim takes pride in building long-term relationships throughout the automotive industry and remains committed to providing clients with dependable coast-to-coast transportation solutions backed by experience, trust, and personal service.
Beyond business, Tim’s greatest inspiration is his beautiful wife, Megan, and their three amazing boys, Langston, Clayton and Truett whose love and support continue to motivate and drive him every day.
